Using deer scents to your advantage
Hunters have long discovered the advantages of using scents to attract deer. The two types of scents are natural and artificial, with the focus on doe urine or doe estrous and buck urine. The experienced hunter knows that there is a lot more to hunting with deer scents than just pouring out samples of urine.
A number of companies produce deer scents, both natural and artificial. We prefer using Code Blue as they use a single-deer collection method for their scents. This drastically reduces the chance of two hunters in the same area using deer scents that smell the same. Doe Estrous is generally used during the peak breeding phase of the rut. Buck urine can be used in all seasons.
Dispensing the deer scents in a controlled manner allows the hunter to set up the trail properly by dispensing only what you need at the time you need it. You visit the scrape (or set up a mock scrape) and by using a scent dispenser, you set it up once and don't have to disturb it again except to refill.

Yes, we designed it that way! Simply wash out to change scent. We also suggest changing batteries every 60 days.
What kind of batteries does the Scent Boss use?
The Scent Boss comes with 2 AAA batteries. Replace with AAA batteries after 60 days.
How do you suggest using Scent Boss?
We suggest making a mock scrape. Hang two scent dispensers across from each other over mock scrape. Fill one Scent Boss with doe urine and the other with buck urine.
What is a Photocell?
A photocell is a sensor that is light activated. When the sun rises, the photo sensor will start the unit. When the sun starts to fall, the photo sensor will start the unit. However, the sensor is smarter than that because it is also time regulated. The sensor will not let the unit be triggered less than 6 hours apart. This prevents thunderstorms and overcast days from messing up your patterning.
How long will the Scent Boss run/last?
The Scent Boss will drip scent continuously for 8 seconds, then turn off. The Scent Boss will last for 60 days in the field.
