Thinking of Buying or Leasing Hunting Property?

Hunters dream about the perfect hunting property day and night.  When you decide to make that dream a reality, you’ll want to know exactly what you will be getting from the land you purchase or lease, preferably large amounts of wildlife.  Before you buy or lease, you’ll want to know how much wildlife you can really expect to see on that “perfect” piece of land.

First, Do Your Homework
One of the fastest and easiest ways to inventory wildlife is by using a Moultrie feeder and Moultrie game camera. Within a few days, wildlife will find its way to the feeders and cameras will capture their images.  Simply place a Moultrie camera facing a feeder set to dispense feed at a specific time.  When the feeder goes off, wildlife will be attracted to the food and the film or digital camera will photograph all of the activity.  Within a week, you will have a comprehensive idea of what type and how much wildlife is on the land.

By scouting the property, you will be able to gather invaluable information, such as:

  • Buck-to-doe ratio of the herd
  • Size of bucks on the land
  • Number of deer and turkeys
  • Health of the herd
  • Number and species of other animals, including hogs, coons, coyotes, bobcats, squirrels, etc.

Using Moultrie feeders and cameras will give you a better picture of the wildlife population on the land you want to lease or own.  These Moultrie tools can help determine a better, more accurate price when you’re negotiating.  Remember to ask the property owner’s permission before setting up your feeders and cameras.
