Mounting the Camera

Make sure to mount the game camera waist high, level with the ground, and aim away from the rising or setting sun. The heat from the sun can essentially trick the camera into thinking it senses an animal's body heat, resulting in "blank" pictures.

Additional Flash Memory for Your Game Camera

Use an SD Card for added memory. These cards can hold from 500 to over 1,000 pictures! Remember, you must have your camera off (un-mounted) to install the card. Purchase your SD (Secure Digital) flash memory cards directly from Moultrie or from any electronics store such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City or Radio Shack. We recommend a quality brand name such as Moultrie, SanDisk, Kodak and Panasonic.

Digital Camera Battery Life

Use a good quality, 6-volt 5-amp dry cell battery for longest life. Not all batteries are made equally so make sure you buy a quality brand name battery. We suggest purchasing a Moultrie 6-volt, 5-amp battery. Using Moultrie batteries can increase your camera's life and they are rechargeable!

By using a rechargeable battery, you can save money from purchasing batteries repeatedly. Another benefit of rechargeable batteries is the ability to attach a solar panel to your camera (this option is only available with certain models that include solar panel connectors). This additional accessory will reassure you that you have a camera with a sustained battery.

Determining Delay Time Settings

Use shorter delay times on trails, when animals are just passing by. Longer time delays are used on food plots and mineral licks or by feeders, when the animals will be lingering in the area.
